Resolution rules
Each market's question carries these rules in full, on chain. This page restates them to make them easier to read.
- Scheduled arrival
- The UTC time written in the question. It is fixed when the market is created, and later retimes by the airline do not change it.
- Arrival
- Gate arrival (in-block) at the scheduled destination, the definition used by the US Department of Transportation.
- On time
- Gate arrival less than 15 minutes after the scheduled arrival, including early arrivals.
- Delayed
- Gate arrival 15 or more minutes after the scheduled arrival.
- Cancelled or Diverted
- The flight was not operated on its scheduled date, or it landed at an airport other than the scheduled destination. This takes precedence: a flight that is delayed and later cancelled resolves to this outcome.
- Return to gate
- If the flight returns to the gate and departs again, the final gate arrival is what counts.
- Evidence
- Any reliable public source: the airline, the destination airport, or flight-tracking services.
Version 1. If this page and a market's question ever differ, the question prevails.
